About Atlas of Skills
What this is
Atlas of Skills is a map of things worth learning while you travel — languages, kitchens, boats, forges, mountains, monasteries, dive sites, safari-guide training, yoga teacher training, martial arts. The question it's built around isn't "what's out there," it's "I have this many days and this much money, in this month — what could I actually learn?"
Who's behind this
Hi, I'm Reshikaa Srivastav. Atlas of Skills started from turning my own love of travel into a product — I kept noticing that wherever I went, there was some skill worth learning there, and no good way to actually compare those options against how many days I had and what I could spend. So I started building the tool I wished existed.
I haven't personally done every course listed here — my job is keeping the data behind each one real, sourced and honest (see how, below), not pretending otherwise. If you've done one of these and want to tell me what it's actually like, I'd genuinely love to hear it.
What this isn't
We're not a travel agency, a booking platform, or the school itself. We don't take payments, we don't currently earn a commission from anyone listed, and we don't guarantee availability. Every listing links straight through to the real provider — their own site, WhatsApp, or booking page — because the decision to enrol is between you and them, not us.
How we research what's listed
Every entry starts from real, sourced data: typical cost and duration ranges, and what's actually included. Where we've been able to verify it, we surface the real operators people book with, their published prices, and independent review counts — TripAdvisor, Google, Trustpilot — rather than a school's own marketing claims.
Where a review sample is too thin to mean much, or an asking price isn't published anywhere, the page says so instead of guessing. Provider details carry a "last reviewed" date, because course fees and availability change — if something's out of date, tell us.
